A proven methodology, a formula for success.

FISS has implemented the most complicated IAM systems at some of the biggest organizations in the world.

We know about the pitfalls of the notoriously difficult to implement IAM systems. With this experience and knowledge under our belts, we have created a process that will empower you and maximize the success of both the technical aspect and the business side of the project.

Recuperating and salvaging your failed projects.

FISS is often asked to recuperate and salvage failed IAM projects implemented by organizations who might be technically proficient to implement IAM systems but lack the important business side of the project. Sometimes the opposite is true as well, there are organizations which are very proficient in the business side of things but lack the technical skills and know-how to implement IAM systems and therefore rely on 3rd parties to do this work for them. Time has proven that this is a recipe for failed IAM projects. At FISS we master both the technical and business side of IAM.

Our 4 step plan:

It starts with a good plan, the rest comes later

What are the use cases? Are there specific audit findings that need to be resolved? What capabilities are required? Which legacy systems need to be integrated? What are the project execution time constraints? Have previous attempts to implement an IAM system failed, if so why? What are the architectural requirements? What are your digital transformation needs? How high is the quality of data in your systems?

What is needed, what is missing

In this phase we bring understanding to what your requirements are for today and in the future. This will highlight the current gaps in your IAM systems. Based on these gaps we will look at the different tools and services on the market which best fit your current and future requirements. We will also look how these tools and/or services fit in your current application landscape (e.g. are there out of the box connectors available?) and if the organization becomes self-empowered or reliant on external consultants.

Potential & Feasibility

Together we will look at the organization and what can be realistically achieved within the given constraints. Every organization is different and so are the expectations of the business users. We will analyse the technical impact on your organization but will also look at how this will impact your business users and processes.

Getting everyone on-board

Because IAM systems have a big impact on your organization and have many different stakeholders, communication is of utmost importance. Explain what the low hanging fruits are that can be achieved quickly with the project and how the project works towards big wins. Politics, finances, different points of view, a low maturity of processes, low quality of data – all

these things need to be managed in order to make a success of your IAM implementation. This is where FISS excels.
